A Good Coach
Publié le 8 Février 2016
I never fail to wonder when I see all those coaches swarming all over the social and professional networks and boards... what those coaches may offer...
I came to coaching in my early forties... and, as experienced as I was being a work-worn teacher, a trainer, a teacher trainer, an auditor, an entrepreneur, a business person having experience in such various fields as catering, communication, cultures and languages, I am glad I didn't get to coach before...
Coaching draws on so many skills and fields -most of them best acquired and practiced hands-on- such as manufacturing and engineering, psychology and philosophy, language, communication and interpersonal skills...
That's why real coaching is so expensive and so well paid... it's an awful lot of work... but it's a fascinating job !
All skills nobody could gather in earnest before they're at least forty ! So where do all those young coaches get it ?
No matter your coaching diploma, verification or validation... or even accreditation no matter how high, coaching won't save you if you haven't got it altogether !
I see schools and universities all over the planet delivering coaching diplomas everywhere everyday to people who just wouldn't pass muster with me...
Next time you choose a coach I recommend you have a good interview before you hire him or her... and check on their curriculum...
