The Future of English
Publié le 21 Janvier 2015
Nobody can tell what will become of a language... and nobody can predict what the future of English will be... might be even...
We're all trying to keep up, to teach, to learn to speak English... often each to their own... but a language evolves as per what and how people speak... and use it...
Thus Northerners in the UK tend to use 'were' for 'was'... making 'were' the only past of 'be' there is... or at least they have...
Likewise the Americans are letting go of the present simple's first person '(e)s' ending... and they were responsible fo the dropping of 'shall' in favor of 'will'...
We are all making the English of tomorrow... let's see which English we want... and which English it will be...
